Strange House and Fear

I used to be a huge fan of the MTV reality show "Fear," where they take a selected group of people to these supposedly haunted areas and they have to follow instructions from a computer that usually tells them to go one by one into dark building and they have to sit there for a certain amout of time to determine whether that place is haunted.

Well. One night I decided to do something like that while I was driving on my way home one night. I was between towns out in the middle of nowhere and there was this old abandonded house by a hill so I decided to stop and sort of dare myself to go up there. It was very creepy. And would remind one very much of a classic Halloweenish moment where all you can hear is the wind and the sounds of trees crackling and the leaves rustling.

The house was a complete wreck with the doors knocked out and the windows taken out. So I went up to the building and had a peek inside. It was all quiet except for a few creaking floor boards, at least that's what I think it was. I went around to the back of the building feeling really scared but I thought it was so cool at the time! And I went up the back steps. I peeked inside the dark house but didn't want to go in of course.

But I listened. Through the back door a flight of stairs faded down below into the basement. And I could hear sounds but thought it could just be birds roosting in the house. Then I decided to go in. I had my hand pressed against the door for just a few seconds when all of a sudden that very spot got unusually warm. Like somebody touched my hand with a hot pot holder.

The adrenaline rushed thru me so fast but all I could do was slowly back away from the door. Again I heard more rustling noises coming from within the house so I walked a little faster this time down the pathway to my car. And I don't know if it was the wind or not but all of a sudden that back door slammed open. NOW I wanted to run. And I got in my car and quickly sped away.

Nothing like that ever happened to me before but it made me a believer. I've always heard stories about that road. Scary stories. And hoped I would never break down in a spot like that. Would I try something like that again? Oh yeah! That was like so awesome!
